I was a Research Fellow working for the Architecture & Language Implementation group. I am currently retired. I was working on the Scale compiler which is being used as the compiler for the TRIPS processor.

I have over fourty years experience in computer science and system software. I was involved with image understanding applications for over ten years. Previous experience includes:

• Principal software architect for the Image Understanding Architecture project.
• Project leader of the Low Level Vision System for image understanding.
• Principal architect for several commercially sold, Prolog and APL, language systems.
• Trained ISO 9000 auditor.
